  1. Don’t you guys think this is a bit of a slap in the face to remixchart.com who at one point you were supporting? Now your releasing a weekly remix chart the day before they are each week and have been for the last year, with most of the remixes being posted on here identical to remixchart.com

  2. A few things you have to understand here:

    1)  We never stopped supporting remixchart.   It’s a good idea, and we’d like to think we can coexist.  That site features some dope up and coming remixes chosen by the owners whom we definitely still are cool with.  We’ve slacked a bit on updating our links section, but again, we still support that site, and that will be in our links once we update.

    2) MOST IMPORTANTLY, our site has been around for over two years now, and in that time JD and I have brainstormed like crazy about ways to improve and further RemixReport.  We’ve had many ideas, some of which we have yet to implement, some which will happen soon (like our friend Josh Carl doing stuff for the VDJs), and probably lots that will never happen due to lack of time.  In addition to our brainstorming, we’ve received TONS of ideas from viewers.  You have to understand that since we started, the chart idea had always been at the top of our TO DO list, as well as having been suggested to us numerous times.  When Promo Only came to us with this idea, it was a no-brainer and exactly what we had been waiting for since we started our site.

    3) While this is a collaboration between ourselves and Promo Only, the chart itself is courtesy of Promo Only alone and our site is happy to be the host.  As far as the  songs go, they are not Remix Report “picks” in any way, but rather based 100% on actual spins by a large, yet select group of DJs.  Any songs that are the same between the Promo Only Chart and the chart on RemixChart simply mean that those songs from Remixchart are getting actual club spins.  The only influence JD and I have on the Promo Only chart, is that we are reporting DJs who send in our playlists.  We are two out of a rather large group, and this means our impact on the chart is less than 1%.

Again, I can’t stress enough how long we’ve had the chart idea in the making, and there’s a good amount of people who can vouch for us.  I would hope our friends at RemixChart understand this.  In the same way, we’ve had many people email us asking us to do a segment on Video DJing, and some volunteering to actually do the segment.  We hope those people aren’t offended when they see Josh hosting it for us, and likewise, if a VDJ site were to start up before we get our segment started, we would hope they understand that we’ve had something similar in the making for quite a while – just ask Josh!!

  3. looks like Mike D Is Taking over he Steped his game up …

  4. I think this is a good idea!!  Since this is a site for DJ talk, then why not have a tool that everyone can use and see.  There are some spots in the US where music takes a while for it to catch on. Being sometimes in my area.  Since most of the FM radio stations dont play a lot of these remixes, really people will only here these on Sat. radio, the internet or at the club.  So I like this as well as many others do to see whats workin and maybe whats not.  Keep up the good work guys!!!

  5. I say Great job guys, and THANK YOU! For sharing also and spicing up the dance floor with the remix charts, i say, why be ordinary, why not light up your audience faces and rock out with these cool remix??…..just try it before you knock it, JD and Spring Collabo with Promo Only and in turn, Posted this chart to help us, so we can rock parties, just say thanks and move on!!
